Information Dissemination

Various mechanisms are used to disseminate SCLD data:

  • SCLD Publications and Presentations--Peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations provide analyses of state legislative provisions. Reports have included, for example, an analysis of legal requirements for disclosure of breast cancer treatment alternatives. SCLD also publishes topical fact sheets and brief data bytes of legislative activity.
  • SCLD Update--A quarterly newsletter reviews substantive cancer-related legislation enacted each quarter.  The newsletter includes a "Legislative Data Byte," a brief overview and graphic illustration (data byte) of selected cancer control topics. A "Year in Review" summary is provided in the last issue of each year.
