Cancer-General In Illinois, S.B. 83 creates the Children's Cancer Fund ("Fund") within the state Department of Human Services to support grants for research and direct community-based supportive services and programs. Additionally, the law adds the Children's Cancer Fund to the list of funds placed on all individual income tax return forms, enabling taxpayers to contribute at least one dollar. If, on October 1 of any year, the total contributions to the Fund are less than $100,000, all information regarding the Fund will be removed from the tax form for the following and subsequent years. Awareness California adopted a resolution, S.C.R. 52, which designates the week of October 12-18, 1997, as National Lymphoma Awareness Week, and recognizes the work of the Lymphoma Research Foundation of America toward finding a cure for the disease. |
