Legislation enacted in Illinois (S.B. 1383) requires the state Department of Health to conduct a program to promote awareness and early detection of testicular cancer, subject to appropriations and funding. The program may include: (1) dissemination of information concerning the incidence of testicular cancer, associated risk factors, and the benefits of early detection and treatment; and (2) the promotion of information and counseling about treatment options and of referral services and screening programs.
