Occupational Exposure Reduction

A law passed in Wisconsin (S.B. 329) requires in cases where a municipal fire fighter is disabled or dies from complications due to cancer that the cancer be presumed to be caused by his/her employment if s/he served a total of 10 years as a municipal fire fighter, and a qualifying medical examination given prior to his/her joining the department showed no evidence of cancer. The presumption only applies to cancers affecting the skin; breasts; central nervous system; or lymphatic, digestive, hematological, urinary, skeletal, oral, or reproductive systems.
