Cancer Registries

Virginia enacted a law (S.B. 548) that requires a physician to report information on patients having cancers, excluding basal and squamous cell carcinoma of the skin, unless the physician has determined that the information has already been reported by a hospital, clinic, or in-state pathology laboratory. Each hospital, clinic, independent pathology laboratory, or physician must provide other available clinical information as defined by the state Board of Health.
